Mars students honored by PLCB
HARRISBURG — The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board on Wednesday recognized two Mars Elementary School students who addressed the dangers of underage drinking by participating in the PLCB's 21st annual Alcohol Education Poster Contest.

Fourth-grader Ella Martin and second-grader Armando Vargo were among more than 40 students in kindergarten through 12th grade honored Wednesday.
More than 600 students across the state participated in this year's contest. Those students represent nearly 40 different school districts. Their entries were judged on presentation and message.
The winning posters were displayed in the Capitol Rotunda all week.

High school to host youth cheer camp
ADAMS TWP — Mars High School cheerleading program will hold its 2013 youth cheer camp from 6 to 7:30 p.m. May 7 to 9.
The program is open to students in kindergarten through sixth grade. Registration forms are available in each elementary schools main office.
