Snow on the way

Despite clear blue skies Tuesday afternoon, forecasters were calling for snow, sometimes heavy at times, Tuesday evening into Wednesday.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Butler County. Forecasters are predicting 3 to 5 inches of snow for the area.
Forecasters expect the storm to be worse south of Butler County. The weather service issued a Winter Storm Warning for Pittsburgh, where 5 to 8 inches of snow are expected.
The period of most intense snow is expected between midnight and 8 a.m. Wednesday, with most of the snow expected to end by Wednesday afternoon.
The snow is a part of a larger storm system that is expected to dump more than a foot throughout parts of the mid-Atlantic region.
