Public safety providers lauded
Legion Post 474 honors 3 at banquet

ZELIENOPLE — The American Legion recently honored three of the area’s public safety providers at the annual Zelienople Fire Department banquet.

American Legion Post 474 Commander Frank Fredrick issued commendations to the Zelienople Volunteer Fire Department, the Harmony EMS ambulance service and the Zelienople Police Department.
The awards were given based on the recommendation of their specific chief submitting their names for recognition.
Zelienople’s Fire Chief Rob Reeb nominated Scott Garing, First Captain in Zelienople’s fire department.
Harmony EMS Director Jay Grinnell nominated Brian Dambaugh, who is a supervisor for the ambulance service and a captain in the Zelienople Fire Department.
Zelienople Police Chief Jim Miller nominated Chuck Carlson, who is a patrolman for the police department.
Glenn Davis, a representative from the Zelienople American Legion, said when they asked the chiefs to nominate someone in their department who works above and beyond the usual contribution to the community, the above three men were selected.
All three men were present at the dinner and received the commendations.
