JACKSON TWP — A school bus company last week suspended a driver amid allegations that he made inappropriate comments to a student in the Seneca Valley School District. Township Police Chief Terry Seilhamer said an investigation found no criminal conduct had occurred by the 18-year-old bus driver. He added that no criminal charge will be filed in the case. The chief also said many rumors at the school have been “blown out of proportion” and that the only action taken against the driver was from the bus company. “There was nothing criminal there,” Seilhamer said. “Definitely no evidence of illegal activity.” The driver did not have the student on his bus route and allegedly made the statements to her at an event off school grounds, the chief said. School officials learned of the incident from another student, and they passed the information along to township police. A statement released by A.J. Myers and Son said the company became aware of the situation last week and immediately suspended the bus driver. “If the allegations are proven to be true by the (police) investigation, the driver will be terminated at the conclusion of the investigation. Myers cannot provide any other information since this is a personnel matter,” it said.
