2 hurt in Adams Twp. crash
ADAMS TWP — Two people were injured Tuesday afternoon in a head-on collision in the township, police said. The crash about 2 p.m. closed Myoma Road for about three hours after one of the cars caught fire. Both, drivers, Michael Bobish, 42, of Adams Township and Sara Thompson, 83, of Evans City, were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. Adams Township police said Bobish was northbound on Myoma Road when he lost control of his car around a bend in the road. His car crossed into the opposing lane, said police Chief Bill Westerman, forcing Thompson, who was traveling south, to swerve into the northbound lane in a failed attempt to avoid the crash. Bobish’s car ignited in fire, police said. Firefighters from the Adams Area Fire District and the Callery Volunteer Fire Department helped put out the blaze. Chief Bill Hayes of the Adams Area Fire District noted that the drivers’ injuries were from the crash and not the fire. Adams Township police closed the road to remove both vehicles and for an accident reconstruction investigation. The road reopened about 5 p.m. Westerman said charges are pending completion of the investigation.
