May leads Mars win at Freeport



Zach May led a quintet of Mars players who scored in double digits as the Planets’ boys basketball team crushed host Freeport 67-34 Friday night.

May tallied 13 points, Matt Getsy scored 12, Mitch Buzard added 11 and Ethan Lewis and Josh Goetz both put up 10 in the Section 1-AAA showdown.
The Planets (5-1, 2-0) outscored the Yellowjackets 28-5 in the second quarter.
Mars had a 19-11 lerad after one quarter and led 58-21 after three periods.
