Police still looking for leads in robbery case
Armed invasion occurred about 8 p.m. Thursday

CRANBERRY TWP — Township police are urging residents in the Laurelwood Apartment complex on Rochester Road to contact them with any information regarding an armed invasion robbery there Thursday night.
Police Sgt. Chuck Mascellino said officers haven’t yet had a chance to canvass the area and are hoping that some residents might have valuable tips for leads.
“We haven’t had the chance to contact a lot of the residents in the area,” he said. “If anyone recalls hearing or seeing something, we’d appreciate them calling us.”
Mascellino also said he couldn’t release any other details surrounding the case, citing the investigation.
He did say the victims living in the apartment were out-of-town construction workers here on a project. He said most were from North Carolina and Virginia, although he said some were international workers, which led to communication problems.
Mascellino said he couldn’t say what exactly the residents were tied up with while the robbers ransacked the home.
“Pretty much everything we can release, we did,” he said. “Right now we’re just working on the leads.”
The home invasion occurred about 8 p.m. Thursday.
Police said the suspects barged into the home “with at least one long gun and a pistol” and demanded money and drugs. They then bound the five occupants, who police said are temporarily working in the Pittsburgh area, as they tore through the house.
About 15 minutes into the ordeal, two other occupants returned to the apartment and were ordered inside by the suspects; however, the two quickly fled and called police.
Police said at least one of the robbers chased the two occupants before the suspects fled.
It isn’t clear what type of vehicle the suspects had, although police described the robbers as one black man and two white men.
