Mars native honored at optometry school
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Erin Hohmann Tolomei of Mars recently won three awards at Southern College of Optometry.

She won the Second-Year Basic Science Award, which recognizes outstanding optometric skills; the Second-Year Clinical Science Award, which recognizes outstanding clinical skills; and the Dr. Allan and Mrs. Susan Barker Endowed Scholarship, which comes with a $2,000 monetary award.
A native of Mars, Hohmann Tolomei is the daughter of Linda and David Hohmann and the wife of Joseph Tolomei. She is a graduate of Mars High School and the University of Pittsburgh.

Ensembles perform at district schools
ADAMS TWP — Members of Mars High School's Chamber Ensemble and String Orchestra will offer holiday performances at the following schools on Friday:
• Mars Middle School — 8:20 a.m.
• Mars Centennial School — 9:35 a.m.
• Mars Primary Center — 1 & 1:40 p.m.
