• The Office of Special & Gifted Education will offer a parent training workshop from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the elementary school library. The topic will be “Evaluations: Why? When? What?” For more information, call 724-898-1561.
• The high school will hold a financial aid information night at 6:30 p.m. The event, which is geared toward parents of juniors and seniors, will include a presentation by a representative of Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency, followed by a question-and-answer session. Topics will include loans, grants, scholarships, work-study opportunities and how eligibility is determined. For more information, contact the high school guidance office at 724-625-1581.
• The 30th annual Mars Area Fall Craft Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the middle school and high school. The event will feature more than 275 vendors. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Shuttle buses will be available between buildings. The event is sponsored by the high school's AFS/MISA (American Field Service/Mars International Student Association) Chapter and Mars Students International Inc. • The Mars Planet Foundation will meet at 6:30 p.m. at Mars School District Administration Office, 545 Route 228.
