JACKSON TWP — The Seneca Valley School Board Monday night filled two administrative positions by hiring an assistant principal at the middle school and an acting principal at Rowan Elementary. The board unanimously appointed Cranberry Township resident Marie Palano to serve as the Seneca Valley Middle School assistant principal. Her salary is $73,500. Palano has taught Spanish for the last decade in the school and also serves on the district’s multicultural committee, among others. She also is the chairman of the world language department at the school. The board also hired Gibsonia resident Nannette Farmar as the Rowan Elementary acting principal. The district will seek a permanent replacement, but officials said they have no timeline on when that might happen. Farmar will fill the position left vacant by John Giancola, who is leaving the district in December for a job with the Allegheny Intermediate Unit. She has served as the assistant principal at both Rowan and Connoquenessing Valley elementary schools for the past five years.
