Twenty-two municipalities in Butler County now have updated regulations regarding land use.

The Butler County commissioners on Thursday adopted an amendment to the county subdivision and land development ordinance. The ordinance affects the municipalities that don’t have their own regulations, according to Dave Johnston, county planning director.
“We review plans and make recommendations in those communities,” he said at a public hearing before the commissioners meeting.
The other 35 municipalities follow their own requirements.
Johnston said the update aligns the ordinance, which was first adopted in 1973, with the state’s municipal planning code.
Other new additions to the ordinance are guidelines for RV parks and campgrounds. Mobile home parks already were covered.
The new requirements took effect Thursday.
