Cranberry paramedic chief earns recognition



CRANBERRY TWP — Teak Baker, Cranberry Emergency Medical Services paramedic crew chief, was presented Nov. 1 with an EMS Recognition Award by the Emergency Medical Services Institute at its annual meeting in Washington, Pa.
Baker was nominated for the award by Cranberry EMS executive director Jeff Kelly. The award is given to an EMS professional who exhibits knowledge, compassion, and professionalism. Every year, two nominees are chosen and presented with this award.
EMSI is the EMS governing and licensing authority covering a 10 county region in southwestern Pennsylvania. In a release, Kelly said Baker was chosen because of his devotion and dedication to improving Cranberry Township EMS.
As a paramedic crew chief, Baker’s responsibilities include public relations and community outreach. He has taken those responsibilities and used his experience of more than 20 years in the profession to help the township’s EMS adhere to its mission of improving its involvement in the community, Kelly added in the release.
