Planets earn rout, 49-7
HOLLIDAYSBURG — Josh Schultheis rushed for 202 yards and two touchdowns Friday night as Mars returned to its winning ways Friday night with a 49-7 thrashing of Hollidaysburg. Schultheis scored the Planets' first two touchdowns on runs of 22 and 20 yards. He carried the ball on six straight plays — picking up 67 yards — on the Planets' initial scoring drive. Mars (7-1) rebounded in a big way from its first loss of the season last week. The Planets rolled up 421 rushing yards as Alex Smith contributed 90 yards and a pair of touchdowns on the ground. Hollidaysburg was limited to 128 net yards in the contest. Owen Nearhoof tossed a 14-yard touchdown pass to Billy Shrock and scored on a 1-yard run himself. Mars had a 28-0 lead at halftime. The Planets travel to Hampton next Friday in a showdown for the Greater Allegheny Conference title. The Talbots defeated Franklin Regional, 17-13, Friday.
