Pumpkin contest winners listed



ZELIENOPLE — Several area residents came up winners during the Pumpkin Decorating Contest, held in Zelienople as part of the Country Fall Festival.

First place in the children’s division was given to Jude Olayer. His prize was a $25 gift certificate to Room to Grow. Other prizes included gift certificates to Goodfello’s Restaurant and gift cards. Second place for children was Abby Garrity and third place was Shristi Gurung.
Adult winners were Aimee Pieszak and Jennifer Bornes.
The contest was sponsored by the Zelienople Public Library, Room to Grow and The Business Association of Zelienople-Harmony Area Chamber of Commerce.
Judges included Shelley Mathew of Mathew Jewelers and Susan Rodgers, retired teacher and Zelienople resident. Other judges were library trustees Beth Marshall of Marshall Hair Salon and Rotary Club president and Kent Miller of Harmony.
Pumpkins were distributed to Main Street business during the Country Fall Festival and visitors were asked to vote for their favorite.
The People’s Choice award went to Matthew Deemer for his silver, Matisse inspired pumpkin.
