Bank heist suspects nabbed after chase
WARRENDALE — Two suspected bank robbers were arrested following a police pursuit down interstates 279 and 79 that had traffic back up for miles during Wednesday evening’s rush hour. Employees at the Fidelity Bank on Perry Highway in Ross Township reported at 4 p.m. that two men had just robbed the bank. Police officers in the area spotted a black Honda coupe fleeing the scene. Officers pursued as the car fled down the interstate. The vehicle became disabled near Warrendale and the two suspects ran away. Police from nine departments worked together, including Evans City and Cranberry Township, and K-9 officers were used to help track the suspects. Police said one of the suspects was found a short distance away. That suspect was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries. The second suspect was caught in a residential neighborhood. Police have not released the names or ages of the suspects.
