Evergreen Health and Rehabilitation Center sponsors 2nd Annual Community Sweater Drive



Butler, PA Evergreen Health and Rehabilitation Center will team up with the Dove Women’s Shelter in Butler, Zion Lutheran Church and Zelienople Preschool at Calvin Presbyterian Church to conduct a Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood Winter Clothing Drive as a tribute to the late Mr. Rogers and his example of being a caring neighbor.

During the clothing drive, members of the community are asked donate new or gently used items including sweaters and sweatshirts. Evergreen Health and Rehabilitation Center will deliver the items, with the assistance of David Newell, who portrays Mr. McFeely on Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood.

Beginning Friday, October 12, 2012, members may donate sweaters and other clothing items at Evergreen, located at 191 Evergreen Mill Road in Harmony, PA to help those in need. The drive will end on October 26, 2012.

The drive is being planned along with the help of David Newell, staff member at the Fred Rogers Company. When David Newell appears on Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, he plays Mr. McFeely, the elderly Neighbor who runs a speedy delivery service.

David continues to honor the Fred Rogers Company working in innovative ways to engage new generations of children and families with his timeless wisdom. He will be visiting Evergreen Health and Rehabilitation Center to talk with residents along with local children from the Zelienople Preschool on October 26, 2012.
